NELSON'S MONUMENT ~ 1807, Portsdown Hill

Nelson's Monument is atop Portsdown Hill, nr Portsmouth, Hampshire
 
The 93ft tribute has stood for 200 years, with the foundation stone laid in 1807, only 2 year's  after Nelson's death. The monument was created from subscriptions raised by the navy officers and men of the Fleet.
